It\’s a me Mario :D. So, you just hit ? Leveling Guide. Leveling in Wildstar can be a tad odd. This guide is helpful for getting to level cap as quick as possible.

For any game to be successful in the market the gameplay has to be fun and the graphics has to be attractive.

I am not huge on lore and typically can\’t be bothered to read through quest dialog. Nearly all of the time I\’ve spent leveling has been the typical \”run to quest hub, grab all quests, complete them, run to the next, etc. While I consider dungeons being difficult to be a good thing, the rewards should match the challenge. I heard a rumor that they intended to improve dungeon rewards, so you might check to see if that has been done before judging the game based on this.

However, in the ones that I\’ve run the loot has been mediocre and the experience gain abysmal. The game lacks explanation of a lot of things. I don\’t know if this was done on purpose, trying to get the player more involved in figuring things out, but ultimately it created a lot of confusion.

For instance, Amps think Talent Tree in most games are not explained. I ended up wasting half a day back-tracking and trying to find the ones I\’d missed. On that vein, while PVP is fun, the goals aren\’t clarified very well. It took me a while to figure out what was going on, and then in subsequent games it was extremely aggravating having most of my team going to the wrong places at the wrong times because they also had no clue.

The game doesn\’t allow abilities to be used in macros. I understand their reasoning in not allowing it. The problem is, because combat is more twitch-based than what is usually seen in MMOs, the player is constantly moving around, requiring having your hands on WASD nearly the entire time. You get 8 abilities, plus a gadget and some other things that you may need to hit in combat.

Obviously, this can be worked around with mapping mouse buttons and remapping keys, but it almost seems like too much. There are Mods available that allow you to use your main mouse button for attacking while still being able to use it to interact, etc.. However, I feel like Smite works well because you only have four abilities to choose from, the fourth being used infrequently. In Rift, one of the funnest aspects for me was \”programming\” my macros to use the right abilities at the right time, limiting the number of keys I needed to press.

Playing Wildstar with no mods and a standard keyboard and mouse made my wrist hurt. I\’m in the tech industry and spend most of my day at a computer, so perhaps carpel tunnel or something else is setting in that creates wrist discomfort. Yes, I realize there are keyboards and mice that can be set up to macro. There\’s also software that can be used for it. That, in my opinion, is all the more reason that they should just allow abilities to be used in macros. People will find a way to do it regardless.

All-in-all I\’d say I\’ve had fun with the game and gotten my money\’s worth. I am not yet max level, so I can\’t speak to end-game yet. Several of the friends I started playing with have quit and, being that I generally am a social gamer and play with my friends, I am not sure that I will stick with it myself.

One person found this helpful. I have only played to level 12, so I have yet to experience loads of later game content, but what I\’ve seen so far shows enough promise that I feel it\’s worth talking about. I will update with more info as I progress in the game. Some brief background on me, I\’ve been searching for a new great MMO ever since I lost interest in World of Warcraft after the cataclysm expansion.

I won\’t go too much into the story or setting as you could read about those on the product page or the official website, I\’m more trying to tell why I think Wildstar is worth your time and money. Selling points: -Hectic and fun combat. The majority of your characters offensive and support abilities are cast in what is called a \”telegraph\” a blue or red, if it\’s from an opponent grid displayed on the ground.

Dodging just outside of the range of an enemy telegraph, or skillfully maneuvering several foes into one of yours, is exhilarating. Healing requires no less skill, every player in every role is going to running around like a maniac, dodging hostile fire and throwing back some of their own. Wildstar was clearly crafted with a lot of love, it shows in every facet of the game design. Leveling up is accompanied by a funny message from a drill sergeant, there are a ton of character customization options not to mention your mount or player housing!

The art style is colorful and cartoonish, but it looks great, runs great and fits in with the theme. These areas aren\’t wildly different from what you\’ve seen in other MMOs, but they are done well. Quests will be grouped to certain areas for convenience, and yes, there are a good amount of kill X number of Y, as well as collection quests. However, there is a good amount of variety in the quests, and as I said the combat is fun enough that \”grinding\” doesn\’t really become a drag.

Not to mention you can supplement questing with dungeons and PVP and you can level up entirely through PVP if you wish. This isn\’t a bad thing, but at the same time it is. A lot of the MMO trappings you may hate or love are still here.

Tons of other people running around, potentially stealing your resource nodes, but if you don\’t like playing with other people why play an MMO?
